Below are the materials we used for the our waves quiz review. The quiz is on Monday.
Today we did an in class graded group performance task. This is excused if you weren't here. This is the last 2nd quarter grade.
We worked in group to explore the connection between frequency and wavelength. This is challenging to do without a group, so check in with me if you missing this. DUE Thursday 1/10 (3rd quarter grade).
Today, we reviewed wave properties with the video below and some other information. We also took some time to get our binders cleaned out and missing work turned in.
We built pendulums and explored the concepts of period and frequency. A simple pendulum can be made by tying something round onto the end of a string. Use your hand or a table as your pivot.
Today we introduced the basic properties of waves such as wavelength and amplitude. The vocabulary and diagram should be put in the notebook and the practice should be done and kept in your binder or notebook.
We use the case study of pocket mice on lava flows in the American Southwest to look at Natural Selection.
We started today by comparing the embryos of different animals. How do you think this is evidence for evolution? Look at the comparative embryology attachment and play along with the other handout.
We finish up our timelines today. First we add the last list of events, then do the analysis.
Use the links below to help you with the Human Evolution Timeline.
