Today, we are looking at the application of genetic testing to predict and treat disease. Watch the video and decide whether or not you would want to know of a genetic condition or not.
Today we are looking at non-mendellian genetics when the dominant allele doesn't necessarily dominate the recessive. For the video, take notes on the 4 other types of allele relationships. Also attached is the activity we did in class. Imagine blue, yellow and green eggs.
Use these exercises to learn how to tell the probability of the dominant and recessive traits.
Watch the linked video and fill in the attached notes (attachment).
Use this vocabulary list to become familiar with the material and study for the quiz on Wednesday, April 18.
We collected lots of data on certain genetic traits. Please follow the link to Issues and Life Science on the resources page.
We will be having a two part test on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday's will be a short video quiz, while Thursday's will be a longer paper test.
We are looking at how the pocket mouse has adapted to its environment in a very short period of time. DUE THURSDAY 3/20
Issues and Life Science pages F-33-->F-35. Use the class data for your graph. See the notes below for the 4 stages of natural selection. It is important to know these so you can apply them to different situations. DUE 3/16
We discussed the adaptations of plants and went for a walk around the Hosford campus. See the attached list of plants we saw and the adaptations they have made.
